Meet Your Counselor

Cecilia Segura-Paz, LPC-S

My name is Cecilia and I have deep respect for the meaningful experiences of womanhood that are often minimized by society, especially motherhood guilt and burnout. I operate from a social justice lens and empower individuals to live their most authentic lives in spite of societal expectations. When speaking about sensitive topics, you will be met with compassion and acceptance instead of shame or judgment.

My approach primarily consists of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) or EMDR. I also incorporate elements of somatic processing, non-religious spirituality, and self-compassion in my counseling sessions. In this space, you will learn concrete coping skills, be assigned homework, and be challenged when it is appropriate to overcome current unhelpful behaviors or ways of thinking.

My core values are informed by my lived experience as a Latina and a mom. My values include equal access to civil rights for all humans, bodily autonomy, and dismantling patriarchal expectations of women’s behavior. I value empowering women with the skills they need to find or build healthy, meaningful relationships with themselves, their children, and their partners. These core values guide me to be open to the lived experience of others and honor their right to lives of integrity and self-fulfillment.
